Edward Dutton – Chairman

Mr Dutton has extensive knowledge and experience in the operation of continuous capital intensive plant and equipment spanning over thirty years. He developed and then executed a strategy for the commercialisation of inventions he patented worldwide. Mr Dutton founded the Interboard Group in Southern Africa, a manufacturing business which went on to employ over 4,000 staff in 21 factories located in three countries. Under his stewardship the Group was listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange. Mr Dutton also founded Buildcor which was also listed on the JSE under his Chairmanship. Mr Dutton was a Member of the Institute of Directors in South Africa and held non executive directorships on the Boards of other substantial listed companies. Mr Dutton was awarded the “Businessman of the Year” in 1988 by the Financial Writers Guild in South Africa. He has a successful history in the venture capital markets, commencing in 1978. Mr Dutton has been involved in a wide variety of capital intensive manufacturing industries of a continuous nature, including those producing animal feeds. He is also Chairman of National Biodiesel Ltd, Australia.

Mr Dutton was amongst those of prominence who took a strong moral stand against the apartheid regime in South Africa and paid a heavy price as a consequence. He spent several years wrongfully incarcerated in the absence of any conviction. Today he is one of a number of people who have experienced and overcome such adversity.

Mr Dutton presently holds the position of Chairman of National Biofuels Group Pty Ltd.  He is also the Chairman of National Biodiesel Ltd in Australia, and the Chairman of the Vida e Caffe Group in South Africa, and is a director of Pacific Neon Pty Ltd based in Sydney, dealing with venture capital projects. Mr Dutton has a diploma from the Institute of Bankers of Southern Rhodesia (1974) and has completed courses in Interpersonal Relationships and Learning Systems. He represented Rhodesia at junior Tennis and Rugby Union. Mr Dutton is married with four children.

Brendan Morse — B.Ec ACA — Finance Director

Mr Morse brings extensive experience in finance structuring, debt and equity raisings, public listings and multinational company administration to his position as Finance Director and CFO of National Biofuels Group. He joined the Group after an extensive and successful career in the financial industry both domestically and abroad. After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant while at Price Waterhouse in 1992, Mr. Morse moved to Deloitte, Sydney to advance their Corporate Recovery division. From there he pursued a successful stint with Deutsche Bank as Financial Controller for the Investment and Corporate Banking Division demonstrating proficiency in this area, with particular focus on profitability and risk management, Structured Finance transactions, forecasting and budgeting.

Mr. Morse then returned to Deloitte and completed three years in its Paris office managing equity raising, debt financing, international taxation and public listings of a number of major multinational accounts. Upon his return to Australia Mr Morse completed four years as the Finance Director/CFO in the property development industry, focussing on financing and settlement of new projects and refinancing of existing projects. As the CFO of Leighton Properties, the property development hand of Leighton Holdings with work in hand of $5 billion, he was responsible for the integrity of the systems and controls, company secretarial and reporting requirements. Mr Morse consolidated his experience gained in merchant banking and accountancy through numerous financial raisings and corporate structuring of new projects, in addition to optimising and maintaining existing external finance facilities for Leighton.

Bradley Wheaton — BScAg MCom CPAg — Alternative Non-Executive Director

Mr Wheaton is the Commercial Director of National Biodiesel Ltd in Australia. He has over 10 years experience in the commercial and public policy spheres of primary industries in Australia. He has been actively involved in the development of agriculture and biofuels policy in Australia over the past five years advising both the NSW Government and industry organisations. In August 2003 he was appointed to the editorial panel of the NSW Bioenergy Handbook, produced by the Sustainable Energy Development Authority of the NSW. He has over five years experience with one of Australia’s major agribusinesses, the Twynam Group, gaining invaluable knowledge and experience in the agricultural commodity markets and biofuels feedstock supply chain. He has also held finance roles with CBRE in their London Head Office covering their European, African and Middle East operations. Mr Wheaton is an alternative director to Mr. Dutton on the NBG Board.
